As part of us “getting out and about in our community”, our second classes visited the elderly in Craddockstown Nursing Home on Friday, 23rd October. Our children visited the elderly and sang a medley of songs for Halloween. They were fantastic and then they spent some time talking to the patients about school. We at Naas CNS feel it is very important for the children to build links with the elderly in the Nursing home and become comfortable in conversing with adults about everyday things. This visit followed a very successful visit by our senior infants to the home for Positive Aging Week.

It’s hard to believe its almost time for our annual Sports Day event! As with last year, children will be assigned a colour (red/green/blue/white /yellow) and compete in a wide variety of team events to throughout the day. Your child’s teacher will be in touch soon to let you know which team your child belongs to as we ask children to wear a t-shirt of their team colour on the day of the event.
