Junior Infants have been busy learning at home let’s take a look at some of the things they have been up to.
The boys and girls have all been busy learning their tricky words “I” and “the” this week. They went on a word hunt around their houses to find the words and have been practicing reading and writing them, even making the words out of playdough. Well done everyone!
This week the boys and girls were looking for heavy and light items around the house. They found lots of different items and sorted them into heavy and light objects. Then they ordered the objects from the heaviest object to the lightest. There were some very heavy objects found, good job everyone!
This week the boys and girls were singing some of their favourite songs from our Gaeilge lessons in school. They sang Rollaí Pollaí, Lámh, Lámh Eile and Is Mise an Traein. They drew some great pictures of the rhymes and even sent in some videos of themselves singing the rhymes! I even heard some of the boys and girls were teaching their Mammies and Daddies the rhymes! Great job!
I set the class an extra task this week to find items around their houses that began with the same sounds as the letters in their names. Let’s take a look at some pictures of their great work.
Around the House
As always, the boys and girls in Junior Infants were busy helping around the house this week. They were helping with the washing up, watering plants and feeding their pets. Well done everyone, it is great to see everyone helping out at home during this time.
Fun and Learning at Home
Junior Infants are a very creative class and are always making unique creations and bringing me in art pieces they made at home. It has been great to continue to see lovely pictures of this creativity continuing at home. Lot’s of great stuff happened at home this week, let’s have a look at some pictures of the wonderful learning at home.
Bobby Bear News
Well done to all the boys and girls who wrote to Bobby Bear. He is delighted to hear from you all.
Some children have been busy with other things. One tooth was lost in the class in the last week! Children doing gardening and making nature tables.
