Hi Everyone

I hope you all had a lovely weekend. I cannot believe that it’s our last week together and your last week in Junior Infants. Well done on completing your first year in primary school. I will let you in on a little secret, you were the best Junior Infants class I ever taught! It has been my pleasure being your teacher this year. I will miss you next year but have no doubt in my mind you will all do excellently in Senior Infants and I will still see you all on the yard. This was a really strange year but you did great work at school and at home over the last few months, well done to each and every one of you, you are all amazing!

We still have one week left though and this week will be another week full of active fun!! In school we would be having Sports Day this week so instead I have put lots of Sports Day activity ideas in the week’s plan so you can have your own Sports Day at home! As always don’t forget to send me on your photos and videos as I love seeing all the great work you do!

Keep up the fantastic work,

Múinteoir Sinéad

  1. Choose an Activity:

Kicking

Activity 1 – Through the Gate

In pairs with one ball per pair (get creative if you have no ball – rolled up socks are good). Each person stands on a spot facing

their partner who is also standing on a spot a distance away. Set up a gate

between each pair using two cones (tins of beans, cereal boxes anything will do). Person A attempts to kick the ball to Person B

through the gate. One point is awarded for each pupil that successfully kicks the

ball through the gate.

Single pupils could play the game off a wall. Increase the distance to increase difficulty. Add some targets.

OR

Kick to Score

Draw or stick target areas at various heights on a wall. Points should be placed in the centre of each target from one to five. The aim is to hit the targets on the wall to achieve a score. Who is the best in your house?

Pupils could try to score a penalty on Mom, Dad or a big brother or sister.
