Third Class ‘Isolation Work’
Greetings Third Class! I hope you are all keeping well and aren’t missing me too much. Since the schools have closed, we’ve had a few birthdays so Happy Birthday to Jodi, Jade, Finn, Eric and Ewan. I hope you all enjoyed the celebrations. Also, Happy Birthday to Alannah and Kevin who have birthdays this week!
Like last week I have split the work into bookwork, which can be found online, and weekly projects. You can do all the bookwork, all the project work or you can do a mixture, whatever works best for you.
All the books needed are up online for free so please follow the link and click on primary, third class, the subject, the book and online book.

Weekly Projects (Spread out over the week)
Diary: Write a diary for each day of the week. Use the following headings to help you:
- Housework – how did you help out in the house?
- Exercise – what exercise did you do?
- Highlight – what was the best part of your day?
- New Information – what did you learn today?
- Feelings – How do you feel today?
- Goal – Write one thing you’d like to achieve tomorrow.
PE: https://family.gonoodle.com/ Do two videos a day.
Housework: Do one piece of housework a day. It is important to help out at home.
Book Project: We are going to write a Lockdown novel. This week decide on what your book is going to be about. Choose your setting (where is the book set) and create your main characters. Your book can be any genre you want (adventure, horror, romance, sci-fi, detective). This week write how the main characters start off, what happens that changes the character’s life, what challenges do they face, how does the story end. This is just a plan. Don’t write the whole novel this week.
Art: Treasure Maps. Get a white sheet of paper. Get a teabag and place it in cold water. ‘Paint’ the page with the wet teabag. Leave the page to dry. Draw a treasure map on the page.
Music: Listen to the song Octopus’s Garden by The Beatles. Draw a picture to represent the song.
Oral Language: Pick a friend or relative you haven’t spoken to in a while. Write down 5 questions you’d like to ask them. Call them on the phone and during your conversation ask them your questions. (Get your parents’ permission before you call).
I will send another update of work next Monday.
Until then, stay safe and be good.
All the best,
M. Ruairí
