Writing – Story, using descriptive writing.

I want you to write a story about a fictional character (made up character) set in the past. Use lots of adjectives (describing words). Example:  a man,  instead write,  a grumpy tall man.

You will need to plan, the setting

The main character and other characters

The plot (the main idea/adventure/problem to solve)

                                    Middle- Beginning -End.

Some questions that will help you write the story:      When ?    why?    Where?   Who?   How? What happened?

Write as much as you can. You can even send the story to me to read.

SPHE ·

Try some mindfulness.

I love this channel for mindfulness, start with the above video.

Type Cosmic Kids Zen Den into YouTube.

Personal Safety.
What would you do if you got lost on holidays/school tour/or in a busy city? You also left your phone behind.

  • Write out 5 things you could do to help you find your parent or get to safety in this situation.
  • Also write out 5 things you should not do if you got lost in this situation.

Art ·

Drawing. Still drawing.

Firstly, can you find out a little bit about this artist Paul Cézanne.

Can you find out what sort of an artist he was?

Write a little about his life (half a page) and what sort of art form he worked with.

Practice drawing a toy or object in your house. All you need is some paper and a pencil. Remember its impossible to get good at anything if you don’t practice!

This video might give you some inspiration for a still life drawing.

That’s it for this week boys and girls. It has been a short week as we had Monday and Tuesday off because of the May Bank Holiday weekend.

Try you best to get as much work done as possible. If there are any words in Irish you don’t understand please use these online dictionaries , https://www.focloir.ie/   or https://www.duolingo.com/dictionary/ga.  For maths don’t worry if you cannot answer all the questions. Use a calculator to check your answers. You can use google maps for the geography too.

P.S. I will also upload the homework to Aladdin https://www.aladdin.ie/. It will be possible to send me some pictures of your work there (if you want). A parent can also ask me any questions there also.

Take care,

Múinteoir Jason.
