Hello 5th Class and parents,
I hope you are well. Its been great to get some feedback from you regarding the homework and the GMGY activities from last week. Thank you all so much.
This week is called ‘Wellbeing Week’. We are going to take a break from our normal work and look at how we are feeling.
It’s a good time to reflect on how we have been doing at home and to understand that we are all in a similar situation together.
It’s a good time to be thankful for your parents doing such a great job. Its also a time to thank yourself for doing well with the schoolwork and for helping at home.
Perhaps you got closer to a parent or sibling because you had more time than normal just to simply have more chats or spend time together. Maybe you learned a new skill that you might not have had the opportunity to do so before.
Yes, we all miss school and our friends, but there are positives to be taken away from all this. Maybe we might be more kind and understanding towards ourselves and others going forward. We will get to meet our friends again. Well, this is a good week to relax and have a think about all this.
I will post some activities for each day. Again, don’t worry if you don’t get some things done. However, I want you to try as many as you can and it would be great if you could let me know how you got on.
Remember one day we can look back on this year and say we got through it together by staying calm and positive.
Take care,
Múinteoir Jason.
P.S. It might be a good idea to keep a journal/diary over the week. Sometimes writing down how you feel becomes so much clearer in your head. You can keep this private and you don’t have to share it.

Random Acts of Kindness
See can you do three kind things today for someone at home. You could help Mam or Dad setting the table, you could help your little brother or sister with their work, or you could give someone a big hug and tell them how great they are.
When you get out for a walk, slow down a little. Stop, listen, take a deep breath and feel.
Its pretty simple right? It does actually work!

and think of three of your rainbow moments from week. You can record them any way you like for example you could draw your rainbow moments or write some sentences or a poem about your rainbow moments.
Sin é boys and girls for this week. I really hoped you tried some of the activities. I also tried some of these and they do really work for me. Just getting outside to the lawn or park can really make a big difference to how you feel.
Remember, be kind and understanding to yourself and to those around you.
Stay safe and positive,
Múinteoir Jason.
