Hi 6th class!
Hope you are all keeping well. Thanks to everyone who got in touch last week, it was really lovely to hear from you! I received lots of great photos over the week, which I have started putting up on our new 6th class blog. If you haven’t seen our blog yet you should definitely check it out- you’ll find it under the “Classes” section of the website. I need your help and your work to keep the blog going so please keep the photos and news coming in!
Photo Challenge competition- I really enjoyed looking through your captions for the photo challenge last week. There was stiff competition and it was extremely tough to settle on just three captions… However, after lots of deliberation the three winners are (drumroll……..) Ethan, Ryan and Róisín!! Well done! You can check out the winning captions on the school blog which will be up over the coming days. Well done to everyone for taking part!
As always, do what you can with this week’s work and don’t worry if you get stuck on something, just move on to the next bit and try your best with that.
Stay safe,
Múinteoir Claire

We’re doing some grammar revision this week. Each day you’ll look back over a Réamhfhocail.
There will be an attachment each day for you to practice. You don’t need to print out the page, instead just write them into your copy or onto a page.
Some of these will be challenging but just try your best. If you are unsure of any words, you can use the online dictionary www.focloir.ie to help you. I have also attached some “Réamhfhocail posters” as a refresher, which might be helpful to you.
See “Réamhfhocail Monday” Task.

Country project
This week we are doing a country study. Choose a country anywhere in the world (except Ireland) that you would like to learn more about. See “Country Study” task. This task can be spread out at your own pace over the week. Don’t forget to send in pictures of your great work!
ART
“NOT ALL SUPERHEROES WEAR CAPES, SOME WEAR SCRUBS AND GOWNS” -AN TAOISEACH, LEO VARADKAR
This week as a school we are taking part in the “Draw your hero” art competition, which is centred on the theme above that “not all superheroes wear capes.”
The competition is designed to recognise the many different professions and people who are working tirelessly to bring Ireland through the Covid-19 pandemic. Your task is to create a piece of art based on a superhero in your life, whether it is a parent, a local community worker, a relative, or anyone whose heroic efforts you would like to acknowledge.
Full details of the competition can be found at:
You may wish to check out the recent piece of art by Banksy attached below to help inspire your work!
I would love to see your interpretations of the theme also, so if you are able, please send me a picture of your entries. Best of luck!
