Múinteoir Claire 08.06.20

Hello 6th Class,

Hope you are all keeping well.

Firstly, both Jeremy and Keita are celebrating their birthdays this week so I’d like to start by wishing them both a big happy birthday!

This week we have some lovely activities lined up for you!

It’s Well-being Week, so there will be a variety of activities to choose from each day. It’s really important that we look after our physical and mental well-being, so we hope that you enjoy these activities. You may wish to choose one well-being activity to do each day, or you may wish to do them all!

Secondly, this week we are busy getting ready for our Graduation ceremony. The ceremony needs your input to make it really special. We will be working on a virtual yearbook and some graduation art for the week.

Finally, we will be including some activities to help prepare you for moving on to secondary school this week!

Best wishes,

Múinteoir Claire

MONDAY

Graduation Task

This week we’re making a virtual yearbook! You will be sent a link for this activity today by email, so check in with your parent/guardian to get this link (everybody will get their own unique link). Click on the link to get started on making your own mini yearbook! But first, please make sure to watch the video below for instructions:

(As it says in the video, please choose “Landscape” format for your yearbook).

You can work away on your yearbook throughout the week to get it completed for Friday. Can’t wait to see them!!

Secondary School Task

When you start at your new secondary school, one of the first things you are likely to be given is your school timetable. Your timetable is very important because it tells you when and where your lessons will take place. It’s important to check your timetable each evening so that you know what you need to bring with you to school the following day.

We will be practising using timetables this week. See “Timetable Task 1,” to see if you can match different subjects to their abbreviations.
