Múinteoir Aislinn 20.4.20

Hi First Class,

I hope you all had a lovely Easter break and enjoyed time off schoolwork. It is all a bit funny not being able to go very far but keeping safe is the most important thing. Hopefully we will get to see each other again soon. I look forward to getting to chat to you all and hear what you have been up to. I have been busy planting your potatoes and will keep watering them to help them grow.

Extra Activities

History Task (write a little each day over the coming weeks)

Years ago, people wrote their news every day, because they wrote it down we can learn about their lives in history. In 100 years’ time somebody will be able to read your news and learn about what was happening. As you write your news daily or weekly imagine someone reading in 100 years’ time and trying to understand what it was like to live through a time when all the schools where closed and everyone had to stay at home. We are apart of history.

These questions might help you to write it; (if you have an older/younger sibling at home you could write it together)

How did you feel when school closed?

Do you still feel the same now?

What is it like at home?

What activities do you do?

Who do you see every day?

Have you got to talk to any friends?

Is everyone in your house at home or are some people going to work?

Do you like doing schoolwork at home?

Ask older family members parents/grandparents if they ever remember anything like this in their memories. Can you call family members to say hello and ask them how they are.

You could write a letter to a friend or family member telling them what is going on in your house- it is exciting to get post and maybe you will get one back.
